National Survey of Women with Incarcerated Loved Ones
Today 1 in 4 women has a loved one in prison. Even though there are millions of women with loved ones behind bars, our personal and family experiences have never been gathered. This is a major problem: how will we end mass incarceration if we do not truly understand the scope of its impact? The answer is simple: we will not.
Essie Justice Group is conducting the first national survey of women with incarcerated loved ones, and DJC is partnering to reach women in Detroit and across Michigan. If you’d like to tell us how incarceration has impacted you, you can take the survey here.
We will use the data to build a stronger movement to end mass incarceration. Stay tuned for the report in May 2018.
