Shareece McCauley is a Staff Attorney with Detroit Justice Center. She received her B.A. in Psychology and Gender Studies from Bard College at Simon’s Rock in Massachusetts. Later she graduated from Wayne State Law School, where she served as an Editor at The Journal of Law in Society, executive board member at the Free Legal Aid Clinic, and elected member of the Student Bar Association Board of Governors.
 
Shareece has a passion for working with families and communities to provide them with creative and effective outcomes. Shareece is a alumni of the Bard Globalization And International Affairs Program, where she took advanced courses in international affairs while supporting several organizations which sought to restore rights to at-risk populations. Shareece’ background is in human trafficking advocacy, where Shareece has many year’s experience working with people effected by displacement and seeking services to allow them autonomy. She is a proud National Lawyer Guild Member, Legal Observer and proud member of a large, blended family. Connecting people with services, coupled with her firm belief in restorative Justice, Shareece sits on the board for the American Civil Liberties Union and co-teaches Movement Lawyering at Wayne State Law.
