James A. Britton is an Associate General Counsel for the International Union, United Auto Workers, where he focuses on all aspects of the collective bargaining relationship between the Union and its various employers, including organizing, contract negotiations, contract enforcement.

Before Joining the UAW in 2013, James was an Associate at the former Sachs Waldman, P.C. in Detroit, where he represented a number of public and private sector labor unions. James is a native of Detroit, Michigan and graduated from Martin Luther King, Jr. Senior High School. James earned a Bachelors of Arts in English/Language Arts, from Morehouse College in 2003 and earned his Juris Doctorate from Wayne State Law School in 2007. While a student at Wayne State Law, James served as President of the Student Bar Association Board of Governors.
