Antwanisha (“AJ”) Hamilton was born and raised in the city of Detroit. AJ graduated from Davenport University with a B.A. and later obtained her J.D. from The University of Detroit Mercy School of Law. AJ was admitted to the Michigan bar in June of 2018.After being admitted to the bar, AJ worked for Lakeshore Legal Aid as a Staff Attorney providing legal assistance to low income and senior clients by helping them navigate the legal system with issues involving divorce, child support, probate, and eviction matters. Before joining the Detroit Justice Center, AJ was employed as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office. During her time there she worked in the Juvenile division handling delinquency cases and also worked on adult felony cases in the General Trials unit. AJ also serves as a board member of the Wolverine Bar Association.
