
James Martines is a Detroit-based attorney and a graduate of Wayne State Law School. While at Wayne Law, he served on the executive boards of the National Lawyers Guild’s student and state chapters. Prior to joining Detroit Justice Center, James represented hundreds of Detroit tenants in landlord-tenant court, guided by the belief that housing is a human right.
Outside of legal practice, Outside of legal practice, James is interested in political theory and is currently working on an academic paper exploring the intersections of geography, race, and politics in the city of Detroit.
